Where we need help (pick 1–2 roles to start)

1) Try Hockey Free Crew (off‑ice & on-ice)

What you’ll do: greet new participants, help with gear fitting, check skates/helmets, and more both on and/or off the ice.
Great for: friendly, organized helpers (no skating required for off-ice).
Commitment: 90 - 120 minutes per session (30 - 60 min before each session + 60 min during the session).

2) On‑Ice Mentors (Foundations & U17 Girls)

What you’ll do: light demo, keep pace beginner‑friendly, offer quick tips/encouragement.
Requirements: confident skating; helmet, gloves, stick required (we can loan limited gear).
Commitment: 60 minutes on ice; arrive 15 minutes early.

3) Scorekeeper / Timekeeper

What you’ll do: run the clock, track goals/penalties, confirm final score.
Great for: detail‑minded volunteers; training provided.
Commitment: Single game (60–75 min).

4) Event Crew: Helmet & Heart Unity Cup

What you’ll do: check‑in/registration, rink runners, raffle table, merch table, bench support.
Impact: Proceeds support Canvas Health and Whiskey Tango Foxtrot (WTF) Hockey.
Commitment: 2–4 hour shifts.

7) Coaches (Youth & Adult Programs)

What you’ll do: on‑ice station support, positive feedback, safety eyes. (Some roles may include a stipend.)
Requirements: strong skating and hockey knowledge
Commitment: varies by session or season block.

6) Coaching Assistants (Youth & Adult Programs)

What you’ll do: on‑ice station support, positive feedback, safety eyes. (Some roles may include a stipend.)
Requirements: strong skating & hockey knowledge; background check/SafeSport for youth involvement.
Commitment: varies by session or season block.

7) Sponsorships & Fundraising

What you’ll do: connect local businesses, help with raffles/auctions, donor thank‑yous.
Great for: networkers and organizers.

FAQs

Do I need to skate? Only for on‑ice mentor roles. Plenty of off‑ice options.

Do I need equipment? On‑ice mentors must wear a helmet and gloves (we can loan limited gear). Off‑ice roles: comfy shoes and a smile.

Background checks/SafeSport? Required for any youth‑adjacent roles (e.g., U17). We’ll send details if you select those roles.

Can teens volunteer? Yes! Older teens can help both on and off ice (guardian permission required).

Can I track service hours? Yes. We’ll sign school/service hour forms upon request.
