REGISTRATION OPTIONS
Full Team Registration
There is no full team registration for Spring league. Players will register individually and teams will be formed by the league to support balanced play across divisions.
Small Group Registration
You may request to be placed with up to 5 hockey buddies on the same team. While we can’t guarantee every request, we do our best to accommodate them whenever possible.
Individual Registration
Flying solo? We’ll place you on a team that matches your skill level. It’s a great way to meet new teammates and be part of the Puck Yea crew!
Sub-Only Registration
Can’t commit to a full season? Register as a sub and we’ll contact you when teams need fill-ins. You’ll stay in the loop and still get ice time, on your schedule.
Divisions
Intermediate
(Momentum)
The Intermediate division games are designed for players who are comfortable on skates and understand basic gameplay, but are still developing consistency, confidence, and pace. This division bridges the gap between beginner hockey and faster, more competitive play.
Equivalent Levels of Play:
WHAM: C1/C2
Hockey Finder: 2.5 - 2.9
Division Definition: This division is designed for players who are learning the game and building confidence on the ice. The emphasis is on providing a welcoming and supportive environment where the intensity is low, and the focus is on personal growth and enjoyment.
Division Focus: The primary focus is on fun, fitness, and skill development, offering a casual and inclusive setting for players new to hockey. This division prioritizes learning the basics of the game, improving foundational skills, and fostering social interaction while encouraging a sense of community and a love for the sport.
Advanced
(Top Shelf Division)
The Advanced division games are designed for experienced players who are comfortable playing at a fast pace with strong skating ability, puck control, and game awareness. Gameplay is competitive, structured, and high-tempo, with players expected to make quick decisions and contribute consistently at both ends of the ice.
Equivalent Levels of Play:
WHAM: A/Strong B1
Hockey Finder: 3.5-5
Division Definition: This division is designed for highly experienced players seeking fast, competitive hockey in a respectful and organized environment. Players are expected to have strong skating ability, positional awareness, passing accuracy, and the ability to keep up with advanced game flow and pace.
Division Focus: The primary focus is on high-level competition, teamwork, and skilled gameplay while still maintaining a fun and inclusive culture. This division encourages strong effort, smart hockey, and competitive intensity without losing sight of sportsmanship, community, and enjoyment of the game.
Beginner -> Emerging Intermediate
(Foundations Division)
The Beginner to Emerging Intermediate division games are designed on fun, fitness, and skill development, offering a casual and inclusive setting for players new to hockey. This division prioritizes learning the basics of the game, improving foundational skills, and fostering social interaction while encouraging a sense of community and a love for the sport.
Equivalent Levels of Play:
WHAM: C3/Novice
Hockey Finder: 1 - 2.4
Division Definition: Designed for newer players who are still learning the fundamentals of skating, positioning, and game flow. Ideal for those early in their hockey journey or returning after time away and looking for a supportive, slower-paced environment.
Division Focus: The primary focus is on fun, fitness, and skill development, offering a casual and inclusive setting for players new to hockey. This division prioritizes learning the basics of the game, improving foundational skills, and fostering social interaction while encouraging a sense of community and a love for the sport.
Emerging Advanced
(Elevation Division)
The Emerging Advanced division is designed for players who have strong foundational skills, solid hockey awareness, and are ready for a faster pace of play. Players in this division are typically comfortable with positioning, transitions, passing under pressure, and maintaining game flow, while still developing consistency, speed, and higher-level decision-making.
Equivalent Levels of Play:
WHAM: B2/B1
Hockey Finder: 3.0 – 3.4
Division Definition: This division is designed for players who are ready for more competitive gameplay while still valuing a positive and supportive atmosphere. The pace is quicker, puck movement is more consistent, and players are expected to have a solid understanding of systems, positioning, and game awareness. While competition increases, the division still prioritizes respect, inclusivity, and continued growth.
Division Focus: The primary focus is on competitive but community-driven hockey, where players can continue developing higher-level skills while enjoying the game in a welcoming environment. This division emphasizes stronger gameplay habits, teamwork, hockey IQ, and pace, while maintaining the Puck Yea culture of encouragement, fun, and accessibility.
